Do You or Your Friends Need Healing?
Did You Know That Every Christians Has The Power and Gift to Heal Others Through Jesus Christ?
Here are 3 practical steps you are going to learn in this sharing that will equip you in seeing miracles and healing!
There are many accounts of miracles done by Jesus and I am sure if you know your Bible well enough you will know many miracles happen through Jesus Christ.
But there is one important element needed for miracles to happen and this is important to know before you start praying for miracles and healing.
Let read Mark 6:4-6
what we need for miracles to take place “ Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.” He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. He was amazed at their lack of faith.” – Mark 6:4-6
First, did you notice He mention He could not do any miracles except laying his hands ONLY on a few sick people and heal them.
Why? Because many of them lack of faith among the many people in that area where Jesus was only a few will heal.
This also explains why many Christians have lack of faith because they put their faith and trust in pastors praying in the name of Jesus for miracles happen.
But sadly many Christians do not know that they too can also pray for miracles and healing too not just the pastors as long they have faith in Jesus you can do it too.
Faith is the most important element needed for miracles to take place. Without faith and trust in Jesus it is impossible for miracles and healing to take place. If Jesus would not do it what more us as disciples right?
Do disciples of Jesus also struggle with faith. Yep they sure do as well just like us today here’s one example from Matthew 17:14-21.
It talks about Jesus disciples not able to heal a demon possessed boy because they have little faith. And Jesus promise to us is if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, nothing will be impossible for you to achieve through Jesus.
Notice it did not mention just pastors only, it mentions EVERYONE who is a disciple of Jesus Christ which is you and me J
Now that we got the basic core values for healing and miracles to take place here are 3 simple practical steps to seeing God’s miracles and healing in your life.
Step 1: Surrender The Problem to God’s Will
It is important to note, that we are not God. We cannot treat God like we are in command but we need to establish a servanthood mindset towards God’s will for miracles to take place. Having a submissive spirit before we pray is important
You must remember this verse in your prayer “ And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28
Everything we do and pray for others is to serve not ourselves but toward’s God purpose in glorifying Jesus Christ only and no one else.
And if you have yet to notice yet in the all the gospels of the Bible everytime when a healing or miracles take places Jesus Christ’s name is been glorify and the same also happens right now when miracles and healing take place so that Jesus Christ name can be glorify for more people to know about Jesus Christ that is part of God’s will in our life.
Step 2: Seek and Ask the Holy Spirit for Guidance
We have a wonderful gift called the Holy Spirit who is our guidance. Before you pray for what things you need to pray for in that person’s life.
From my personal experience, sometimes it might not be what you thought the person problem is.
For example, you visit a friend who had cancer and you might think the right prayer was healing of cancer but there are moments the Holy Spirit will instead prompt you to pray something different. Sometimes it might just be a prayer for encouragement or peace of heart instead.
I cannot go into details in this video on how to hear the Holy Spirit but generally from my personal experience, God speaks to me through thoughts in my mind.
Please note what happens to me may be different for others, some do hear audible voice of God, some through visions and dreams too. If you need help listening or hearing from God ask your pastor I am sure He will guide you too.
Whatever the means of communicating with the Holy Spirit, if it is from the Holy Spirit I am 100% confident it will happen what ever the Holy Spirit prompt you to do or pray for.
I know this because when you put your trust and faith in Holy Spirit, almost all the time it goes as what was prompted by the Holy Spirit. I love it!
Step 3: Pray in Faith Until You See or Hear a Response from God
Notice I said response from God not from the person. I will explain more what are the responses later.
Do you remember the last time you pray for someone and it might be a longer prayer you prayed for someone you care about and after that amen, that was it.
If you read and know Bible enough you will know there isn’t long prayers needed to heal people. In fact, through out the Bible it is only a few words.
Here’s how I pray for others, first you need to be patience with God.
Second check with the person if they currently have any pain or problem. Ask them to give you a pain scale, ranging from 1 to 10 , 10 being the most painful how would you rate the pain.
This part of asking for a scale of the pain before you start praying is a very important step as I will explain further later why.
So some of them will say things like my neck pain is now 6 out of 10 so you get some idea the level of pain they are experiencing now.
Now what you do next, spend a short few minutes and be sensitive to what the Holy Spirit prompts you to pray for and just pray what comes to you. If you are not sure what to pray, just pray in tongues it works as well.
I always pray very short prayer which goes something like this “ Father I thank you for this brother/sister ‘s life let your Will be done , I command pain to go in Jesus name. Amen.”
Please note this is just my way of praying, it might be different for you and sometimes the Holy Spirit will prompt you something else to pray about so be patience with the Holy Spirit.
99% of Christians normally stop praying after they prayed one time. But WHAT you need to next is to check with the person you are praying, Ask them how is the pain now what the range or pain now?
Almost every time I ask this question, people’s response will be shocked and some will say the pain has gone down from 6 to 4 or from 6 to 2 and some can be complete instant healing even from 6 to zero.
So this part if important you must not miss out because I seen too many pastors and Christians miss out this important step, we MUST acknowledge God is doing something to that person we are praying for.
I know what you might think, what if they response I felt nothing the pain is still a 6. Than ask them this important question.
“Did you feel anything different in your body when I pray for you?” Some responses I get from people is they might say things like they feel hot or cold or lighter or happy or peace in their heart or some movement in their body.
Please take note, these are ALL signs from GOD telling us He is doing something to that person, you must acknowledge it is Jesus Christ and thank him for it and push on for more miracles from Jesus Christ.
So let’s presume the person says they felt something or the pain went down what must you do next?
Ask can I pray for you one more time for the pain to go down and you continue pray the same short prayer to the person and you check again!
In doing, this exercise you are exercising your faith and if you be patience with GOD almost every time after that I seen GOD perform his miracle after 1 to 6 times of praying for someone.
And I am not alone, others who practice these same tactics has also seen people get heal from sickness, people’s pain gone and even people who cannot walk suddenly able to walk. Why these happens because we exercise our faith in Jesus Christ.
BUT take note, NOT all the people that I pray for experience healing that is because GOD can answer our request in 3 answers. The three answer are YES , NO or Later.
Yes GOD can say NO or Later to our request as well because it was not His Will and timing for for healing to take place.
A good example of this is when Paul was given a thorn in his flesh and he pleaded God 3 times to take it away but God said NO my grace is sufficient for you, for his power is made perfect in weakness.” Found in 2 Cor 12: 1-10.
Paul understood God’s will of servanthood and surrender the problems He faced to God and this is something we can learn from Paul as well.
So when you pray for someone and it did not go the way you wanted it to be which is a YES. It is simply telling us it was not God’s Will or timing yet for miracles and healing to take place or He just wanted you to plant a seed of healing to happen in a later time.
But do not loose hope yet because God might just to teach and mold your faith in increasing your trust and hope on Jesus Christ.
Remember no wonder what you pray or do ALWAYS be submissive to our Father in Heaven and let HIS will be done not ours. After all, you got to remember you are not GOD so who are we to call the shots.
Also looks for signs of God’s response as I mention it might come in the form of people experiencing , heat , cold, lighter, peace at heart, less pain, movement of body parts in the body.
These are some of the responses from our GOD as well that something is happening we just need to be patience and press on. Remember do not give us so easily be patience and pray and pray until something is reveal from God.
I remember one time when I prayed for a lady who she said she had back pain and I prayed for her and nothing happen. But I saw her crying. Than I ask her why are you crying and later she told me she feel at peace with God and shared with me problems she faced in her life. So at that moment I knew God wanted me to encourage her instead of healing her.
So you see when you are sensitive to the Holy Spirit and look for signs of God’s will you can be used by God as well as long you have faith and be willing to serve Him. I am not a pastor, if I can do it so can you too.
So let’s summarize what we learn today so far today.
Step 1: Surrender The Problem to God’s Will
Step 2: Seek and Ask the Holy Spirit for Guidance
Step 3: Pray in Faith Until You See or Hear a Response from God
So remember, you do not need to depend on your pastor to help others to be heal for signs and miracles everyone including you and I have this promise as long as there is faith and believe in Jesus Christ you can pray for miracles to happen to.
